Okay, I am doing my first movie review on Disney's new film, Frozen. But before I even tell you about Frozen, there was a new Mickey Mouse short that was shown before the movie started. I absolutely love it; I wasn't expecting anything great. But I love it! It was very clever. That's all I have to say about that. Now onto Frozen. It first starts off with the chorus which was beautiful by the way; Then the animation came in, I was blown away; the colors were so deep and bold, and beautiful. It was the best animation I have ever seen in my life. I love the snow scenery too.
Now, I am one of the few people that just like the movie. I didn't love it. I know that some people love it, some people just like it. I am the people that like it. I didn't love it because I knew some things was missing. The story-line could ehh, have been better. It was....well, boring. It was basically having Queen Elsa revealed her icy powers and everybody freaked out; Elsa ran away to the mountain and her younger sister Anna to go after her and find her in snowy journey with a mountain man. That's basically it! lol!
Anna had an accident with Elsa's powers when they were kids. Elsa and Anna's parents separated them so that Anna wouldn't get hurt again. Their parents then were killed in a ship accident. You don't really get to know their parents that well because they come and go so fast. I find it a little weird that Anna was basically raising herself, all alone in a huge mansion with no real furniture around.
Now, you meet a Prince, Prince Hans before trouble started. He's pretty confusing at first; because you don't know if he's good or bad to begin with. I thought he was the good, warm, happy guy but....that all changed in the last 15-20 mins of the film. Which make no sense at all. Its stupid really. It was a nice twist but come on Disney, really? But anyways, I do like the cute snowman, Olaf; he's adorable.
What was missing you ask? My mother and I had to break it down on what's missing. There isn't really any big romantic scenes; no emotional scenes(except the near the end but that's it) like when you don't even get a chance to be emotional. There's not enough comedy, no adult jokes mix in like in Toy Story and Wreck it Ralph for example. It was plainly a kid movie with no adult jokes that makes us laugh along with the kids. Lack of characters development. Disney is usually good at that. I think that's about it on what's missing.
The story-line could have been better,Wreck it Ralph was written so well that I have seen the movie in the theater 3 times! If the story-line is very well written, the movie will be great and entertaining. If not written well, then its not going to be so great. Overall, its a good film. The animation is breath takingly beautiful. The animation really makes up for it. I give it an 8;just because I love the characters designs of Anna and Elsa and some heartwarming scenes.
Animation: 100% breath takingly beautiful
Music: 100% beautifully done
Story-line: 50% Not the greatest story-line ever.
